Computer-Based Assessment Test
The registration for the Online Assessment Test for Mature Student Nursing and Midwifery candidates traditionally takes place in early to mid April of each year. The NMBI announced that there will be a new testing process for the assessment of mature applicants for 2024. Mature applicants will be required to successfully complete three tests - literacy, numeracy and a job simulation test. The tests will be administered online in May 2024.
5 Steps to Success in the Mature Nursing/Midwifery Assessment Test
- Applicants should first read the Nursing and Midwifery - A Career For You 2024 Nursing. This booklet is published by the Nursing Career Centre (NCC). The NCC is under the management of An Bord Altranais.
- As a mature student, you should apply for a nursing or midwifery degree course online at www.cao.ie. Once you have applied successfully through the CAO you will be eligible to sit the Assessment Test for mature applicants.

Getting Started
You can enrol online, or return your enrolment form to us by freepost, or enrol by credit/debit card over the phone. The complete self-study course will be despatched to you by courier next working day.
Everything You Need
You will then receive everything you need in your study pack. In the unlikely event of the PAS making any changes to the exam after your enrolment in our course, we will provide new study material to you when the test familiarisation booklet is released.
